Essential Test Settings to Check Before Scheduling a Test on Testlify
Assessment Name and Description
- Ensure that the test name and description clearly communicate the purpose of the test. This will help candidates understand the context and importance of the assessment.
Candidate Time Limits
- Test Duration: Check if the time limit provided for the test is adequate for all sections.
- Per-Question Time Limit: For individual questions, make sure there are no unreasonable restrictions that may prevent candidates from completing the task.
Proctoring Settings
- Tab Proctoring: Enable this setting to track when candidates navigate away from the test.
- Snapshot Proctoring: Ensure this is turned on to capture images of candidates during the test. This helps to verify the authenticity of the assessment.
- Copy-Paste Tracking: This setting can detect if candidates copy or paste during the test.
- Randomization Settings
- Enable question randomization to ensure that each candidate receives questions in a different order. This is useful for maintaining test integrity.
- Device Compatibility
- Confirm if the test is compatible with different devices (laptops, desktops). We recommend advising candidates to use a desktop/laptop for the best experience.
- Browser Requirements
- Inform candidates that the test is optimized for Google Chrome and suggest they use this browser to avoid any technical issues.
- Inviting Candidates (Bulk and Individual Invites)
- Review the candidate invitation process to ensure smooth delivery of test invites. For bulk invites, confirm that all emails have been correctly uploaded, and consider sending a test email to yourself before sending it to all candidates.
- Test Credits
- Ensure that there are enough credits available for the number of candidates being invited. If you are running low, top up the credits before scheduling the test.
- Review the email templates sent to candidates for assessment invites. You can customize the messaging to align with your organization’s tone.
- Enable Retakes (Optional)
If you want to allow candidates to retake the assessment, ensure that this option is enabled under test settings.
- Notification Settings
Make sure email notifications for test completion, scoring, and candidate progress are enabled, so you're always updated.
- Test Preview
- Before scheduling the test, always use the Test Preview feature to ensure everything is working as expected.
By thoroughly reviewing these settings, you can provide a seamless experience for candidates and ensure accurate results from your assessments.
