Notifications to Test Administrators

Testlify provides a range of notification options that keep administrators informed throughout every stage of the assessment process. This guide explains where to find these notifications, what each option means, and how to customize the email templates sent to your team.

Where to Find Administrator Notifications

To manage notifications sent to Test Administrators:

  1. Go to Settings (⚙️) in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select Notification from the left-side panel.
  3. Scroll to the section titled Notifications to test administrator.

Here, you’ll find all available alerts related to candidate activity and test lifecycle events.

Types of Notifications

Below are the notification types available for Test Administrators. These can be toggled ON/OFF based on your preferred workflow.

1. Start Notification

This email is sent when a candidate begins an assessment.

Useful for high-volume hiring teams or timed tasks.

2. Completion Notification

This alert is triggered when a candidate successfully completes an assessment.

Ideal for teams that want to evaluate results immediately.

3. Invitation Expired Notification

Sent when a candidate’s invitation expires without taking the test.

Customizing Email Templates

Every administrator notification offers a Customize email option. You can fully customize this email (subject + body + tags) to match your tone or process.

To customize:

  • Click the ⋮ (three-dot) icon next to the notification you want to edit.
  • Select Customize email.

  • Update the subject line, message body, and placeholders (tags).
  • Click Save.

You can also send yourself a test email using Send test email.

Important Notes

  • SMS/Text notifications are chargeable, please refer Testlify Text Pricing.
  • These notifications apply workspace-wide and affect all assessments unless modified per assessment.
