How to Enable and Configure Cooldown Periods for Assessment Retakes

The Cooldown Period feature in Testlify allows you to manage how soon candidates can retake an assessment after an attempt. This helps maintain test integrity by preventing immediate retries and ensuring fair evaluation.

How It Works: Once configured, candidates will be notified at the end of each attempt with a message indicating when they can retake the test.

Steps to Enable and Configure Cooldown:

  1. Open Assessment Settings:
    • Go to the assessment you'd like to configure.
    • Click on the Settings tab.
  2. Navigate to the Access Tab:
    • In the Access tab, you’ll find options related to assessment attempts.
  3. Define the Number of Attempts:
    • Set the number of times a candidate is allowed to attempt the test (e.g., 2 or 3 attempts).
  4. Configure the Cooldown Period:
    • Once the number of attempts is set above 1, the Cooldown Period option will appear.
    • Choose a cooldown duration in minutes, hours, or days (e.g., 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 days).
    • If you select No cooldown, candidates can retake the test immediately.

What Candidates Will See: At the end of their attempt, candidates will be shown:

  • The time remaining until their next available attempt.

This ensures a clear and transparent experience for candidates.
