How to Monitor and Manage AI Plugin Use During Assessments
Overview
Testlify's AI detection currently identifies responses generated using the Merlin extension. To protect assessment integrity, candidates must complete tests without AI assistance, and administrators should actively monitor for policy violations.
Before You Begin
Ensure you have assessment administrator access in your Testlify workspace. AI detection results appear in each candidate's assessment report under Logs.
Candidate Expectations
Candidates must complete all assessments independently, without external AI assistance. Using AI tools during a test:
- Undermines the credibility of the assessment results.
- Violates Testlify's assessment integrity policy.
- May negatively affect the candidate's evaluation and progress through the hiring process.
Steps for Test Administrators
- Communicate your AI policy — Clearly inform candidates before the assessment that AI tools are prohibited.
- Monitor assessment logs — Review candidate response logs for irregular patterns that may indicate AI use.
- Review flagged responses — Investigate and take action on any responses where AI-generated content is detected.
Tip: For proactive enforcement, configure Testlify to block AI plugins during assessments. See Restrict Candidates from Using AI Plugins During Assessment.
