Restrict Candidates from Using AI Plugins During Assessment

Testlify's AI Assistance detection blocks browser-based AI plugins and tools during assessments, so your results reflect each candidate's own abilities — not an AI assistant's.

Before you begin

You need Admin or Manager access to edit assessment settings in your Testlify workspace.

Enable AI Assistance Detection

1. Log in to your workspace at app.testlify.com using your registered email and OTP.

   

2. On the Assessments dashboard, locate the assessment you want to update.
3. Click the three-dot menu next to the assessment name and select Edit.

   

4. In the Setup Assessment page, go to the Settings tab.
5. Under Proctoring, select AI Assistance.
6. Check the box to enable AI Assistance detection.
7. Set the termination limit — the maximum number of AI detections allowed before the candidate is automatically removed. A limit of 2–3 gives candidates a chance to address an accidental trigger while still enforcing the policy.
8. Click Save to apply your changes.

   

How It Works

Once enabled, Testlify monitors the candidate's browser throughout the assessment for AI plugins and external assistance tools.

1. When an AI tool is detected, a warning is displayed to the candidate, giving them a chance to disable it.

   

   

2. Each detection is logged as a violation. Once violations exceed the termination limit, the candidate is automatically removed from the assessment.

   

   

Violation logs are available on the candidate's result page for your review.
