How Credits Work in Testlify

Credits in Testlify are consumed when candidates actively take an assessment. Knowing exactly when credits are and are not deducted helps you manage your workspace balance efficiently.

Before you begin

Check your current credit balance in Workspace SettingsBilling.

When a Credit Is Consumed

  • A credit is deducted when a candidate enrolls and starts the assessment.
  • Each attempt uses one credit. If the same candidate attempts an assessment twice, two credits are consumed.

When No Credit Is Consumed

  • Invited but not started: Candidates in Invite status who have not begun the assessment are not charged.
  • Failed qualifying questions: Candidates who fail qualifying questions are automatically disqualified — no credit is consumed.
  • Internal previews: Workspace users who preview an assessment as a candidate are never charged — credits apply only to external candidates.

Tip: Use the internal preview to verify your assessment setup before inviting real candidates — it costs zero credits.
