How to Add Video Interview Questions in Testlify
Before You Begin
- You have an active Testlify workspace.
- You have permission to create and manage assessments.
Step 1: Create Your Assessment
- Click "Create Assessment" from your dashboard.

- Select the job role you are hiring for.

Step 2: Add a Skill Test (Optional)
You can add a skill test from the Testlify library to complement the video interview. If you only need video questions, skip this step and proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Add Video Interview Questions
- Click "Question" to open the question editor.
- In the Custom Question section, select the Video option under the Media tab.

- Type your interview question in the text field.
- Set the time limit and the number of attempts allowed per candidate.
- Repeat steps 1–4 to add more video questions.

Tip: Use open-ended questions such as "Describe a challenge you solved and how you approached it" to get more revealing, high-quality responses. Aim for 3–5 video questions per assessment.
Step 4: Review and Publish
- Review all settings — question count, time limits, and proctoring options.
- Click "Save" to publish the assessment.
Your video interview assessment is now live. Invite candidates to participate — Testlify's AI automatically scores their video responses. You can also download each video and view the transcript for a detailed manual review.
