How to Configure Dual Camera Proctoring

Dual Camera Proctoring adds an additional layer of assessment security by using a secondary mobile device to monitor the candidate and their testing environment. It helps employers identify interruptions to the secondary camera and configure how Testlify should respond when violations occur.

🔍 What is Dual Camera Proctoring?

Dual Camera Proctoring allows candidates to use their mobile device as an additional camera during an assessment.

When enabled, you can:

• Set a tolerance limit for Dual Camera Proctoring violations
• Automatically terminate an assessment after a defined number of violations
• Add custom instructions for candidates
• Review Dual Camera Proctoring violations in candidate reports
• Include Dual Camera Proctoring violations when evaluating assessment integrity

⚙️ How It Works

When Dual Camera Proctoring is enabled:

1. The candidate connects their mobile device as the secondary camera.
2. The secondary camera remains active during the assessment.
3. If Dual Camera Proctoring is interrupted, the system records the event.
4. The candidate may see a violation message based on your configured settings.
5. If the configured violation limit is reached, the assessment can be automatically terminated.

🔧 How to Configure Dual Camera Proctoring

1. Navigate to your Assessment > Settings > Proctoring tab.
2. Enable Dual camera proctoring.
3. Set the required Tolerance limit.
4. Enable Terminate in case of violation if you want the assessment to end after repeated violations.
5. Enter the required Violation limit.
6. Configure custom instructions if required.
7. Save your changes.

✏️ Customise Candidate Instructions

You can add instructions that candidates should follow while using Dual Camera Proctoring.

To add your own instructions:

1. Enable Customise instructions.
2. Enter the instructions in the text editor.
3. Save your assessment settings.

These instructions are displayed to candidates during the Dual Camera Proctoring experience, including on their mobile device and applicable violation message screens.

👤 Candidate Experience

Candidates will receive guidance while setting up and using their secondary device.

If Dual Camera Proctoring is interrupted, the candidate will see the applicable violation message along with the instructions configured by the assessment administrator.

Depending on the assessment settings, the candidate may be allowed to continue or the assessment may be terminated after the configured violation limit is reached.

📝 Viewing Dual Camera Proctoring Violations

Dual Camera Proctoring events are recorded in the candidate's assessment report.

To review them:

1. Open the candidate's report.
2. Navigate to the proctoring or activity details.
3. Review the recorded Dual Camera Proctoring violations.

A logged event may appear as:

Dual camera proctoring stopped — Violated

The timestamp of the event is also displayed to help you understand when the interruption occurred.

Dual Camera Proctoring violations can also be considered when evaluating the candidate's assessment integrity.

Review the candidate's Trust/Integrity Score and related proctoring information to identify Dual Camera Proctoring violations alongside other proctoring events.
