Configuring the Resume Parser with Workday Integration
Our Resume Parser feature automatically evaluates candidates based on their resumes and moves them through the job stages in Workday based on a scoring threshold. This document explains how to configure the integration, set scoring criteria, and trigger the parsing process.
Important: To use the Resume Parser feature, you must have the Workday integration already integrated with our platform. The Resume Parser works as an add-on feature on top of an active Workday integration. If Workday integration is not yet set up, please contact our integration team to enable it first.
Once the Workday integration is active, you can configure the Resume Parser and start using the feature.
Step 1: Configure Job Role and Scoring Criteria
- In the platform, navigate to the list of open jobs by clicking on Resume Parser on your Dashboard.
- Locate the specific job role you want to configure (e.g., "Senior Consultant").
- Click the Configure button for that job role.
Set the ATS Job Stage Completion Match Criteria
- Select the job stage from the dropdown menu (the stage that, once a candidate reaches it, will trigger the resume parsing process).
- Example: When a candidate is moved to the Interview stage, resume parsing will begin.
Set the Scoring Criteria (Settings)
- Define a cut-off score (e.g., 10%).
- If candidate score ≥ cut-off score (e.g., 10% or more) → Candidate automatically moves to the next stage (e.g., Offer).
-
If candidate score < cut-off score → Candidate automatically moves to the Rejected stage.
Step 2: Configure the Completion Stage in Workday
To ensure the parser knows which stage is the "completion" stage (the destination after scoring), follow these steps:
- Log into your Workday platform.
- Search for the Reference ID and select View All 9 Task Records.
- Click View Reference ID.
-
Search for Workflow Setup and select it.
Click the Export to Worksheet icon (this allows you to view the Reference IDs).
To add a completion stage:
- Use the search command to find the appropriate stage (e.g., search for
offer_from_interviewif Offer is your completion stage). - Important: Do NOT select the "default" record. Select the global record.
- Copy the entire ID from the global record.
- Paste the ID into the completion stage field.
- Click Next, then Add Configuration, then Save.
- Use the search command to find the appropriate stage (e.g., search for
Result: When a candidate moves to the defined triggering stage (e.g., Interview), the parser starts. If the candidate scores above the cut-off, they are automatically moved to the completion stage (e.g., Offer).
Step 3: How the Parsing Works – End to End
Once configuration is complete, here is the automatic flow:
- Candidate moves to trigger stage: In Workday, a recruiter moves a candidate (e.g., "Steffi Devalue") from "Review" to the Interview stage.
- Sync candidates: In the parser platform, click the Sync Candidate button.
- Parsing begins: The system processes the candidate's resume. This takes approximately 30 seconds.
- Score appears: Refresh the page. The candidate's score (e.g., 90%) is displayed.
- Resume view: Click the icon next to the score to view the parsed resume.
-
Automatic stage change: Because the score (90%) is greater than the cut-off score (10%), the system automatically updates Workday. The candidate's stage changes to the Offer stage (or your configured completion stage).
Key Points to Remember
- Workday integration must be active before you can use the Resume Parser feature.
- After the integration is set up, you can configure the Resume Parser and use the feature immediately.
- The resume parsing starts only when a candidate reaches the specific job stage you selected (e.g., Interview).
- The cut-off score determines whether the candidate goes to the next stage or to Rejected.
- Always select the global record (not the default) when configuring completion stages in Workday.
-
After moving a candidate in Workday, you must click Sync Candidate in the parser platform to trigger the parsing.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Likely Solution |
|---|---|
| Resume Parser option is not visible | Verify that Workday integration has been set up with our platform. Contact the integration team if needed. |
| Parsing does not start | Ensure the candidate has been moved to the correct triggering stage (e.g., Interview) in Workday and that you clicked Sync Candidate. |
| Candidate not moving to Offer stage | Check that the cut-off score is set correctly (e.g., 10%) and that the candidate's score meets or exceeds it. Also verify that the completion stage ID was copied from the global record, not the default. |
| Score not appearing after 30 seconds | Refresh the page. If still not visible, re-check the job stage configuration. |
Conclusion
The Resume Parser with Workday integration automates your candidate screening process by evaluating resumes and moving qualified candidates to the next stage based on a configurable scoring threshold. This reduces manual effort, speeds up hiring decisions, and ensures consistency in candidate evaluation.
To use this feature effectively:
- Ensure your Workday integration is active with our platform
- Configure the job stage trigger and cut-off score correctly
- Set up the completion stage in Workday using the global record
- Always click Sync Candidate after moving a candidate to the trigger stage
Once configured, the entire flow—from resume parsing to automatic stage transition—runs seamlessly without manual intervention.
