How to Use the Country Restriction Feature to Limit Assessment Access
The Country Restriction feature allows assessment administrators to control which countries candidates can access an assessment from. You can choose to either allow candidates from specific countries or disallow candidates from specific countries. Based on your selection, the system will permit or block access accordingly.
When enabled, the system verifies a candidate’s location via their IP address at the time of accessing the assessment link. If you choose "Allowed" mode, only candidates from the selected country/countries can proceed. If you choose "Disallowed" mode, candidates from all countries except the selected disallowed country/countries can proceed.
This feature is ideal for roles that require candidates to be based in or excluded from particular countries, helping you maintain compliance with hiring location policies.

A: No. You must choose either "Allowed" mode or "Disallowed" mode. The system only supports one restriction type per assessment.
Q2: What happens if I don't select any countries in "Allowed" mode?
A: If you choose "Allowed" mode but don't select any countries, no candidates will be able to access the assessment from any location.
Q3: What happens if I don't select any countries in "Disallowed" mode?
A: If you choose "Disallowed" mode but don't select any countries, all candidates from all locations will be able to access the assessment.

A: The candidate’s location is determined via their IP address at the moment they click the assessment link.
Q5: Can I switch between "Allowed" and "Disallowed" modes after setting up restrictions?
A: Yes, you can change the mode and country selections anytime. Changes take effect immediately for new access attempts.
Q6: Will candidates know why they are blocked?

Conclusion
The Country Restriction feature provides a simple yet powerful way to control geographic access to your assessments. By choosing either "Allowed" or "Disallowed" mode and selecting the relevant countries, you can ensure that your assessments are only accessible to candidates in your preferred locations.
