End Speaking / Send Response for Voice AI & Video AI Questions
We’ve released an important improvement to Voice AI and Video AI questions to address the AI interruption issue some users experienced earlier. The new End Speaking / Send Response functionality ensures candidates have a smooth, uninterrupted experience while recording their responses.
What’s Improved
With this enhancement:
- Candidates can complete their full response without interruptions
- The AI will wait until the candidate explicitly clicks Send response
- Prevents accidental cut-offs or premature AI prompts
- Ensures clearer recordings and more accurate evaluations
In the question setup page, you’ll now see an Enable send response option. When activated, the candidate, not the AI, controls when their answer is submitted.
How the New Flow Works
1. AI pauses without interrupting the response
During the recording, candidates may see a message such as:
“You’re muted while the AI is speaking.”
This appears when the AI is processing or giving instructions.
Importantly: the candidate can continue speaking without being cut off.
2. Candidate submits their answer manually
Once the candidate finishes their response, they can:
- Click Send response, or
- Press the Spacebar
The Send response button is clearly presented on the screen.
The AI will only continue after the candidate submits their response manually, creating a stable and controlled interview experience.
