Set Up Notification Recipients for Assessments
The Recipients for Notifications feature gives you control over who receives alerts when candidates are invited to an assessment. Testlify automatically includes the recruiter who sent the invite, preventing missed communications and duplicate notifications throughout the hiring process.
Before you begin
- You need access to the Configuration tab in Testlify's assessment setup.
- At least one recruiter must be assigned as the inviter for auto-selection to work.
- This setting applies per assessment—configure it each time you create or update an assessment's notification preferences.
What is the Recipients for Notifications feature?
This feature lets you define which team members receive notifications about assessment invitations. Previously, recruiters had to select recipients manually each time—increasing the risk of errors or missed communications. Now the system detects who sent the invite and adds them as a recipient automatically, while still allowing you to add others manually.
Once configured in the Configuration tab, notifications go to the right people based on your selections. The system pulls the user who invited the candidate and sends them alerts automatically. If the inviting recruiter is already listed as a manual recipient, Testlify skips the duplicate and sends only one notification.
How to set up notification recipients
- Open your assessment's Configuration tab: Navigate to the assessment in Testlify and click the Configuration tab.
- Select recipients: In the Recipients for notifications section, choose the team members who should receive alerts about candidate progress and assessment activities.

- Enable "Notify user who invited": Check the Notify user who invited checkbox to automatically notify the recruiter who triggered the invite. You do not need to add them as a manual recipient—the system includes them automatically.

Tip: If you manage multiple assessments, enable this checkbox as a default step during setup to ensure the inviting recruiter is always in the loop—regardless of who created the assessment or how many team members are involved.
