Introducing the "Most and Least Impact" Question Type: Gain Deeper Behavioral Insights

We're excited to announce a powerful new addition to our assessment library: the "Most and Least Impact" question type. Designed to streamline how you measure judgment and decision-making, this feature allows you to quickly identify what a candidate prioritizes and de-prioritizes in a given scenario.

What is the "Most and Least Impact" Question?

This new format goes beyond standard multiple-choice. Instead of selecting all correct answers, candidates identify the single most impactful and the single least impactful option from a list.

Perfect for assessing:

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Judgment and prioritization skills
  • Cultural fit and value alignment
  • Situational judgment

How It Works: A Simple Guide

For Employers: Setting It Up

Creating this question is straightforward within the familiar Multiple Select format.

  1. Navigate to Assessments >> Click on Edit >> Question section >> Multiple Select.

  2. Look for the new "Answer selection type" setting.
  3. Select "Most and least impact" from the dropdown.

Once selected, you can:

  • Define Options: Add as many answer choices as you need.
  • Set Scoring: By default, the "Most" and "Least" impactful answers each score 1 point, while others score 0. You can fully customize these scores to fit your grading model.
  • Select Answers: Simply click one option to mark it as "Most Impactful" and another as "Least Impactful." The interface will only allow one of each.

For Candidates: Taking the Assessment

The candidate experience is intuitive and visually clear.

  • Clear Instructions: The prompt asks them to "Select most and least impactful option."
  • Visual Feedback:
    • Their "Most Impactful" choice is highlighted in Green.
    • Their "Least Impactful" choice is highlighted in Red.
  • Easy Interaction: Candidates simply click through the options to cycle their selections. They can easily change their minds by clicking again.
  • Guided Validation: The test ensures completion by prompting candidates if they haven't selected both a most and least impactful option.

Reviewing Results with Clarity

Understanding candidate responses is just as important as collecting them. Our reporting provides immediate, actionable insights.

  • On the Candidate Detailed Page (CDP): See the candidate's selections at a glance with the same clear green and red highlighting.
  • In Reports: Review results across your candidate pool with a consistent, easy-to-scan format.
  • For Incorrect Answers: The breakdown shows the candidate's incorrect selection in red alongside the correct answer in green, making gaps in judgment easy to identify.

This question type is fully supported across the platform, including in Webhooks for seamless integration with your existing HR tech stack.
