This feature helps confirm that the candidate’s camera, microphone, internet connection, and browser are working correctly, reducing disruptions and technical issues during the assessment.

When integrated with Fountain ATS, the System Check process runs directly through the Fountain workflow, maintaining a unified candidate experience while giving employers confidence in test reliability.

Purpose of the System Check

The System Check is designed to:

• Validate if the candidate’s system and browser are compatible with the Testlify platform.
• Detect potential issues with network stability, microphone, or camera access.

How the System Check Works (via Fountain ATS)

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how it functions when a candidate takes a Testlify assessment through Fountain:

1. Candidate Receives the Assessment Invitation

• Once the assessment is triggered from your Fountain workflow, the candidate receives an email or in-platform link to start the Testlify assessment.
• The invite automatically opens within the Testlify environment, maintaining smooth integration with Fountain.

2. System Check Prompt

• Before the assessment begins, the candidate is taken to a System Check screen.

  This step is mandatory and runs automatically.

  The System Check verifies:

  • Browser compatibility (Google Chrome or Chromium-based browser recommended)
  • Internet connection stability
  • Camera and microphone access (if required by the test)
  • Device performance readiness

3. System Check Results

• If everything passes, the candidate can immediately proceed to the assessment.
• Clicking on 'View Report' would provide a list of all the system check details.
• If any issues are detected, candidates can click 'Retry' to re-run the system check.

4. Proceeding to the Assessment

• Once the system check is successfully completed, candidates are automatically redirected to start the actual Testlify assessment.
• This transition happens within the same Fountain-triggered session, ensuring there’s no confusion or loss of progress.

Tracking Candidate Status in Fountain

After the candidate completes the Testlify assessment, their status automatically updates in Fountain, eliminating the need for manual tracking.

• The Status column in the Fountain dashboard reflects real-time updates such as:
  • ✅ Fountain Check – Complete
  • ✅ [Testlify] fountain check: Completed
  • ⚠️ Incomplete (if the candidate did not finish the assessment)

This helps employers easily identify candidates who have completed their assessments successfully versus those who require follow-up.

Viewing Candidate Reports and Details

Within the Approved stage (as shown in the screenshot below):

• Employers can view the candidate’s Testlify PDF report directly from Fountain.
• They can also access Partner Details, which provide deeper insights into the candidate’s test results and system readiness.
