Enable Photo ID Verification in Assessments

Photo ID Verification adds an extra layer of candidate authentication to your assessments. When enabled, candidates must capture and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before starting — reducing the risk of impersonation and strengthening the integrity of your results.

Before you begin

• This feature is a paid add-on at $0.50 per candidate attempt, billed separately from your subscription plan.
• Each attempt is billed independently — retries of the same assessment and attempts on different assessments each count as a separate billable attempt.
• Only government-issued IDs are accepted: passport, driver's license, or national identity card. College IDs, company badges, and other unofficial documents are not accepted and will result in a failed verification.

Enable Photo ID Verification

1. Open the Assessment you want to configure.
2. Go to Settings → Proctoring.
3. Toggle on Photo ID verification ($0.50 per attempt).
4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Tip: Enable Face Detection alongside Photo ID Verification for the strongest proctoring coverage — candidates will complete both steps before accessing the assessment.

Candidate Experience

Once enabled, candidates complete these steps before accessing the assessment:

1. Face Detection — captured automatically, if enabled in proctoring settings.
2. Photo ID Verification — the candidate is prompted to capture and upload a photo of their government-issued ID.

View Submitted IDs in Reports

After the assessment is complete, review the candidate's submitted ID:

1. Open the candidate's Report.
2. Go to the Proctoring tab.
3. The candidate's Photo ID snapshot appears alongside their face photo.

FAQs

Q: What does "per attempt" mean?
A: Each time a candidate starts an assessment with Photo ID Verification enabled, it counts as one attempt. Each retry is billed separately.

Q: Will I be charged if the candidate doesn't finish?
A: No. The charge applies only once the candidate enrolls in the assessment attempt.

Q: Does the charge apply to every candidate?
A: Yes. The $0.50 fee applies to every attempt, regardless of whether the candidate is new or returning.

Q: Is this fee separate from my subscription?
A: Yes. Photo ID Verification is usage-based and billed separately from your subscription plan.

Q: What type of ID is accepted?
