How to Integrate Testlify with Slack

This help article guides you through integrating Testlify with Slack. Follow these steps to invite candidates to assessments directly through Testlify and automatically receive detailed assessment reports in your Slack channel once assessments are completed.

Integration Steps

1. Setting up the Integration (One Time)

Log in to Testlify and go to Settings → Integrations.
From the list, click Slack.

A new tab will open where you can select your Slack workspace or create a new one, choose your preferred channel for assessment completion updates, and click Allow.

Once you click Allow, you'll see the integration success page.

Once setup is complete, Slack will be listed under the Integrations page.

Note: No Job Profile or Jobs integration setup is required to use Slack notifications. Slack integration works independently — as long as your workspace is connected to Slack and a channel is configured, you'll receive notifications regardless of whether Jobs is integrated.

2. Assessment Creation

You can create assessments on Testlify's platform for recruitment or internal certifications, and invite candidates to take the assessment.

Upon assessment completion, Testlify automatically sends a notification containing detailed assessment reports to your linked Slack channel.

Where Notifications Appear

Assessment completion notifications are posted to the single Slack channel you configured during setup — not sent as private, individual messages to specific people.

This means:

The notification is visible to everyone who is a member of that configured channel, not just the assessment creator or a specific participant.
Each candidate does not receive their own private notification — there's one shared notification per completed assessment, posted to the team channel.
If you want to restrict visibility, choose a private or restricted-access Slack channel when setting up the integration, and only invite the relevant team members to that channel.

Summary

Job Profile/Jobs integration is not required for Slack notifications.
Notifications go to one shared, configured channel — visible to all members of that channel, not sent privately per participant.
To control who sees notifications, manage channel membership on the Slack side.
