How to Join an Assessment Using an Access Code

If a candidate is unable to access their assessment due to a broken or edited invite link, there's no need to worry — they can still access the test seamlessly using their unique access code.

This article explains how candidates can manually enter their access code to join the assessment and continue without any disruptions.

What to Do If a Candidate Can't Access the Assessment

If a candidate lands on the general page (https://candidate.testlify.com) instead of their specific assessment, it's likely because:

  • They accidentally edited the invite link.
  • They were redirected to the generic "Join via Access Code" page.

You can guide them to rejoin using the following steps.

How Candidates Can Join Using an Access Code

  • Visit the Candidate Portal

Ask the candidate to go to:

  • Enter the Access Code

The access code is the last part of their original invite link.

    For example, in the link:

    https://candidate.testlify.com/invite/dxdpvyixr ,

    the access code isdxdpvyixr .

  • Click "Join"

Once they enter the access code and click Join, they’ll be redirected to their assessment automatically.

Best Practice: Resend the Original Invite Link

To avoid confusion, we recommend resending the original invitation link from your dashboard. This ensures the candidate accesses the correct page without needing to manually enter the code.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Make sure there are no typos in your code.
  • If the page doesn’t load or shows an error, try refreshing or checking your internet connection.

FAQ

  • Where can I find the candidate’s access code?
