Face Detection Proctoring

Face Detection Proctoring adds an extra layer of security by verifying the candidate’s presence before the assessment begins. This AI-powered feature ensures the webcam is functional and confirms that only one person is in front of the camera—helping you maintain test integrity from the very start.

🔍 What is Face Detection?

Face Detection is a pre-test verification step that uses AI to:

  • Check that the candidate’s camera is active and working
  • Confirm there’s a single human face in the frame before starting the test

⚙️ How It Works

When this setting is enabled:

  1. Candidates are prompted to capture a photo using their webcam.
  2. The system verifies that a clear image of one person is visible and the camera feed isn’t blank.
  3. Once validated, the candidate can move forward with the assessment.

✅ Candidates can retake the photo as many times as needed until a valid image is captured.

🔧 How to Enable Face Detection

  1. Navigate to your Assessment > Settings > Proctoring tab
  2. Check the box for Face Detection
  3. Click Save

👤 Candidate Experience

Candidates will see a straightforward camera interface where they can:

  • Capture their image

  • Retake the photo if needed
  • Proceed with the test once the system detects a valid face

It’s a quick and seamless step that reinforces a secure testing process without disrupting the candidate journey.

🖼️ Viewing the Captured Image

The candidate’s photo is stored in the report under the “Profile picture” field in the Proctoring section. You can:

  1. Open the Candidate Report
  2. Scroll down to the Proctoring
  3. Click on the Profile picture to view the image

This gives you visual confirmation of the test-taker’s identity at the time of the assessment.

🔐 Key Considerations

  • One-time check: Face Detection runs only once—right before the test starts.
  • If you need ongoing monitoring, enable Live Video Proctoring instead.
  • If both Face Detection and Live Video Proctoring are enabled, the system will default to Live Video Proctoring.
  • The captured image is stored under Proctoring as the “Profile picture.”

By enabling Face Detection Proctoring, you’re adding a simple yet powerful layer of security—helping ensure that every assessment starts with confidence and integrity.
