How to Set Access Permissions at the Assessment Level
Testlify now allows employers to control who can view or edit specific assessments within the workspace—regardless of the user's general role-based permissions. This update to the Roles and Permissions feature offers improved privacy and control for managing sensitive assessments.
By customizing access at the assessment level, employers can ensure that only selected team members or roles can interact with specific assessments.
Note: Any access permissions configured at the assessment level will override the default permissions set at the workspace level. This means even if a user’s role has general view or edit rights, they won’t see or modify an assessment unless explicitly granted access through this feature.
Step-by-Step: How to Set Assessment-Level Access Permissions
Go to the Assessment:
Navigate to the assessment you wish to manage and click the Edit option.
Access the Settings Tab:
In the left navigation panel, select Settings, and then go to the Access tab.
Set Assessment Access:
Under Assessment Access, you’ll find four options:
All Users:
Grants full access (view, edit, invite, delete) to every member/user in your workspace.
Only Me:
Restricts assessment access solely to the assessment owner. No other users will be able to view or interact with it.
Selected Roles:
Lets you choose specific roles (e.g., Member, User) from your workspace. Only selected one with those roles will be able to access the assessment. If their role includes edit permissions, they’ll be able to modify the assessment too.
Selected Users:
Allows you to select individual users (from those already added to your workspace). This is useful when you want to grant access to just a few specific people, even if their role wouldn’t typically allow it.
Save Your Changes:
After configuring your preferred access option, click Save to apply the changes.
Conclusion:
This feature provides an extra layer of control and confidentiality over your hiring processes, especially when managing different teams or sensitive roles. By using assessment-level permissions, you can confidently restrict visibility and editing rights to only the people who need them.
