Private Commenting and Tagging in Candidate Assessments

Why Private Commenting is Important

Sometimes, team members need to share feedback or thoughts about a candidate's test — but they don’t want the candidate to see it. That’s where Private Commenting comes in.

This feature allows workspace members, admins, and owners to leave internal comments that are only visible within the team. It’s ideal for evaluating a candidate’s performance, pointing out specific areas of concern, or asking for second opinions — all within the platform.

Key benefits include:

  • Confidential communication – Comments are private and not visible to candidates.
  • Tagging teammates – Use @mentions to include other team members and collaborate efficiently.
  • Centralized feedback – Keep all discussions in one place, no need for external tools like emails or chat apps.
  • Streamlined collaboration – Easily align on next steps with your hiring team.

How to Use Private Commenting

Follow these steps to use the Private Commenting feature on candidate assessments:

  1. Log in to Your Workspace

Visit app.testlify.com, sign in with your registered email ID, and complete OTP verification.

  2. Go to Candidates

From your dashboard, select the candidate whose assessment you want to comment on.

    Open the Comments Section

In the left sidebar, click on Comments to open the internal comment feed for that candidate.

    Add and Format Your Comment

In the Comments section, you can structure your feedback using:

    • Bold or italic text
    • Bullet points or ordered lists
    • Links and media images to support your comments

  3. Tag Your Internal Team

Use @mentions (e.g., @Ashish , @admin ) to notify team members and bring their attention to a specific comment. They’ll see the tag when they visit the candidate’s report.

  4. Sort Comments

Sort the conversation by Newest or Oldest to navigate feedback easily.
