Enabling and Using Live Environment Check on Testlify
To ensure high integrity in your assessments, Testlify offers Live Environment Check (Desktop + Mobile/Tablet). This guide explains how to enable it and what the candidate experience looks like.
How to Enable Live Environment Check
Go to your Assessment Settings.
Navigate to the Proctoring tab.
Choose the Custom proctoring level.
Enable the following options:
- ✅ Snapshot Proctoring
- ✅ Live Environment Check
- (Optional) Configure the Snapshot Interval if required.
- Click Save to apply the settings.
📸 Snapshot Proctoring captures periodic images during the test to monitor candidate activity.
Candidate Experience
After starting the test, candidates will see the Live Environment Check setup screen on their phone or tablet.
Mobile Setup Instructions:
- Place the phone so it captures a side or over-the-shoulder view.
- This device will monitor the test environment throughout the assessment.
Ensure:
- The device is fully charged or plugged in.
- A stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection is available.
- Do not end monitoring until the test is fully completed.
⚠️ Ending the Live Environment Check early will stop monitoring and be reported to the test administrator.
Ending Live Environment Check
If the candidate clicks "End Monitoring", they’ll see a confirmation pop-up:
"Are you sure you want to end the live environment check? This action cannot be undone and will be reported to the test administrator."
Important Note
- Candidates must take the test on a desktop or laptop.
- The mobile device is only for monitoring purposes and cannot be used to take the assessment.
- A full-screen message will appear on the candidate’s screen before starting the test, ensuring they do not proceed unless they are on a desktop.
