How to Use Candidate Tags in AI Interviews

What Are Candidate Tags?

Candidate tags let you personalize Voice AI, Video AI, and Chat AI interview questions with the candidate's name. Available tags:

  • {CANDIDATE_FIRST_NAME}
  • {CANDIDATE_LAST_NAME}

Tip: A Voice AI greeting like "Welcome, {CANDIDATE_FIRST_NAME}!" feels more professional than a generic opener and improves candidate engagement.

Before You Begin

Tags only render if the candidate's name is captured before the assessment starts. Ensure one of the following:

  • Invite candidates by name — do not use anonymous invitations.
  • Keep the name registration step enabled at the start of the assessment.

Where to Use These Tags

Insert candidate tags in:

  • Voice AI — greetings and spoken prompts
  • Video AI — instructions or follow-up messages
  • Chat AI — conversation scripts where personalization improves engagement
