How to Integrate Greenhouse Recruiting with Testlify

Connect Greenhouse Recruiting with Testlify to send skill assessments directly from your ATS and streamline your hiring workflow.

Before you begin

  • You must have admin access in Testlify to generate an API key.
  • You must have admin access in Greenhouse Recruiting to configure integrations.
  • The Greenhouse / Testlify integration is enabled by Greenhouse Technical Support — have your API key ready before contacting them.

Step 1: Generate an API token in Testlify

  1. Log in to Testlify and go to the Settings tab.

  1. In the left menu, click API Key, then click Generate Key.

  1. Copy the API key and store it somewhere safe — you will provide it to Greenhouse Technical Support in the next step.

Step 2: Enable the Greenhouse / Testlify integration

  1. Contact Greenhouse Technical Support and provide your Testlify API key. Follow this Greenhouse guide for the full setup steps.
  2. In Greenhouse Recruiting, add the Testlify assessment stage to your interview plans.
  3. Configure your take-home test settings in Greenhouse as needed.

Tip: Set up your assessment stage in the interview plan before sending your first candidate — this ensures the Send Test button is visible from the candidate profile.

Step 3: Send an assessment to a candidate

  1. In Greenhouse Recruiting, open the candidate's profile and locate the Testlify interview stage.
  2. Click the Send Test button next to the interview stage.

  1. The assessment status updates in Greenhouse Recruiting once the test has been sent.

Step 4: View candidate results

  1. Once the candidate submits their assessment, open their Interview Kit in Greenhouse Recruiting.
  2. Click View Report to open the candidate's results in Testlify.

  1. Results appear in PDF format. No additional login is required to view them.
