Create a Custom Company Test in Testlify

Testlify lets you build role-specific tests tailored to your company's exact hiring needs. Follow these steps to create a custom company test and attach it to any assessment.

Before you begin

  • You must have an active Testlify employer account with test creation permissions.
  • Identify the skills and job role you want to assess (e.g., B2B Sales, Communication, Negotiation).

Steps to create a custom company test

  1. Open test creation
    • Go to the Tests section.
    • Click Create Company Test in the top-right corner.
  2. Set up your test
    • Enter a test name (e.g., "Sales").
    • Select Role Specific Skill as the test type.
    • Choose the skills to assess (e.g., Communication, Negotiation, Presentation).
  3. Select questions
    • Click Testlify Library.
    • Use the search filter to find relevant questions (e.g., type "Sales").
    • Choose a pre-made test (e.g., "B2B SaaS Sales") to browse its questions.
    • Preview questions and select the ones you want to include.
  4. Customize questions
    • Add or remove questions as needed.
    • To edit a question, click the three-dot menu and select Edit.
    • Adjust individual question scores if needed.
  5. Finalize the test
    • Set the test duration (e.g., reduce from 20 to 10 minutes).
    • Review the total number of questions and total score.
    • Click Create to save the test.
  6. Add the test to an assessment
    • Enter the job role you are hiring for (e.g., "B2B Sales").
    • Select your newly created test from the list.
    • Adjust assessment settings and duration as needed.
    • Click Save to publish your assessment.

Tip: Keep tests focused — 8–12 targeted questions in 10–15 minutes give candidates a better experience and reduce drop-off rates.
