How to Embed Media in Custom Questions

The Embed URL feature lets you embed Google Documents, Spreadsheets, Slides, and videos directly in the question text editor when creating custom questions. This makes assessments more interactive and engaging for candidates.

Embedding is supported for all custom question types: Single select, Multiple select, Yes/No, Ranking, Dropdown, Rating, Open ended, Short answer, Number, Fill in the blank, Date, Coding, Spreadsheet, Document, Slides, Chat Simulation, File upload, Video, and Audio.

Before you begin

You must have test administrator access in Testlify to create and edit custom questions.

How to embed content in a question

  1. Create or open an assessment. Go to the Questions tab, click Custom, and select a question type.
  2. In the question text editor, navigate to Media and select Embed.
  3. Paste the embed code (iframe code) into the URL text box and click Add.
