Add Google Slides Questions to Your Testlify Assessment
Add Google Slides Questions to Your Testlify Assessment
The Google Slides question type lets you evaluate candidates' presentation and design skills directly inside a Testlify assessment. When a candidate begins the assessment, Testlify automatically clones your slide deck — so every candidate works on their own personal copy without altering the original.
Before you begin
Have the URL of the Google Slides file you want candidates to edit ready before you start.
Step 1 — Create or open an assessment
- Click Create Assessment and enter a name, or open an existing assessment.
- Go to the Tests tab and add relevant tests using the available filters.

Step 2 — Add the Google Slides question
- Go to the Questions tab and click Custom.
- Select Google Slides as the question type.
- Fill in the question details, paste your Google Slides link, and click Add to save.

Note: Testlify automatically clones the slide deck for each candidate. Every candidate works on their own unique copy, preserving the integrity of your original file.
Step 3 — Set the score
The Google Slides question defaults to a score of 5. Update this value in the question settings to match your evaluation criteria.

Step 4 — Preview the question
Click Preview to see the question exactly as candidates will see it. Confirm the slide displays correctly before publishing.

Step 5 — Configure assessment settings and save
- Select the relevant settings for your assessment.
- Click Next, then Save to finalize all changes.

Step 6 — Invite candidates
Send the assessment invite to candidates. Each candidate receives a unique clone of the Google Slides link, ensuring separate and individualized responses.
Review candidate responses
- Candidates complete their work directly in their cloned Google Slides document.
- Access responses from the workspace dashboard by clicking View Slides.
- Downloadable PDF reports include hyperlinks to each candidate's response for comprehensive evaluation.
