How to Create an Assessment and Add Tests

This guide shows you how to build a new assessment and add tests in Testlify — from naming the assessment to previewing test content before publishing.

Before you begin

  • You must be logged in to your Testlify account.
  • Your account must have permission to create assessments.

Step 1: Create a new assessment

  1. From your dashboard, click Create Assessment.
  2. Select the job role and enter an assessment name.
  3. Click Next to open the test library.

Step 2: Select tests from the library

  1. Browse the available ready-made tests in the test library.
  2. Click Add next to each test you want to include. You can add multiple tests — selected tests appear in your cart.

Step 3: Customize a test (optional)

  1. Click the three dots (⋮) next to a test in your cart.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. Adjust the question count and time limit per test as needed. These settings apply only to this test within your assessment.
  4. Click Save to apply your changes.

Step 4: Preview sample questions (optional)

  1. Click the three dots (⋮) next to a test.
  2. Select View Sample Questions.
  3. Review the sample questions to confirm the content and difficulty match your hiring requirements before finalizing.

Tip: Always preview tests before finalizing your assessment to ensure the difficulty level and content match your role requirements. For more details, see How to preview questions in the questions cart.
