Enable Copy-Paste Tracking in Assessments
Copy-Paste Tracking monitors candidates' copy-paste behavior during assessments on coding, long answer, and short answer questions. It promotes assessment integrity by ensuring candidates work independently.
Note: This feature is available on Desktop and Laptop devices only.
Before you begin
- You need edit access to the assessment you want to configure.
- Decide whether you want to automatically terminate candidates who exceed a violation limit.
How to enable Copy-Paste Tracking
- Open the assessment you want to configure.
- In the left-side menu, go to Settings → Proctoring.
- Find the Copy/Paste Tracking option and check the box to enable it.

How to set automatic termination on violation (optional)
- Under Copy/Paste Tracking, check Terminate in case of violation.
- Enter a Violation Limit (for example, 5).
- Click Save to apply your settings.

Tip: A violation limit of 3–5 allows for minor accidental pastes while still flagging deliberate misuse.
How to review Copy-Paste violations
After a candidate submits the assessment:
- Open the candidate's Candidate Profile.
- Scroll to the Trust Insights section.
- Review the log of recorded copy-paste violations.
