How to Review a Candidate's Report on Testlify

The candidate report on Testlify gives you a complete view of test performance — scores, answers, activity logs, and hiring decisions — all in one place. Use this guide to navigate the report and take action on results.

Before you begin

  • You need an active Testlify account with access to at least one published assessment.
  • The candidate must have submitted the assessment before their report becomes available.

Step 1: Log in and open Assessments

  1. Log in to your Testlify account.
  2. Click the Assessments tab on your dashboard.
  3. Select the assessment whose candidate reports you want to review.

Step 2: Open a candidate's report

  1. In the assessment view, locate the list of candidates who have completed the test.
  2. Click a candidate's name to open their detailed report.

Step 3: Review overall and section scores

  1. At the top of the candidate's page, check the overall score — this is the aggregate percentage across all sections of the test.
  2. Scroll down to view the section-by-section performance breakdown to identify specific strengths and areas of concern.

Step 4: Explore the four report sections

The report is organized into four tabs. Click each to review its contents:

  • Candidate information — name, email, and key assessment metadata.
  • Logs — a timestamped record of candidate activity during the test, including tab-switch events and any proctoring flags.
  • Questions answered — every question with the candidate's response and the score awarded for each.
  • Scoring — a summary of strengths, weaknesses, and overall performance to support your hiring decision.

Step 5: Add internal feedback

  1. Scroll to the Feedback section on the candidate's page.
  2. Enter your notes in the text field and click Save — your comments are visible to all team members who have access to this assessment.

Step 6: Take action on the report

Click the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top right of the page to access these actions:

  • Download the report — save an offline copy to your device.
  • Email the report — send the report directly to the candidate.
  • Shortlist the candidate — mark them as shortlisted for the role.
  • Shareable link — generate a link to share the report with stakeholders who don't have a Testlify account.
  • Delete or reject — remove or reject the candidate from the hiring process.
  • Change hiring stage — update the candidate's pipeline stage without leaving the report page.

Tip: Update the hiring stage immediately after reviewing each report — it keeps your pipeline current and makes handoffs to other team members seamless.
