Configure Workspace and Assessment Settings in Testlify
Testlify has two levels of settings: Workspace Settings that apply globally across your account, and Assessment Settings scoped to individual assessments. Understanding which level controls each feature helps you configure your hiring workflow efficiently.
Workspace Settings
Workspace settings apply to your entire account. Any change here affects all assessments and all team members in your workspace.
How to open Workspace Settings
- Select the account menu in the top-right corner of the Testlify dashboard.
- Choose the setting category you want to configure.

Available Workspace Settings
- Profile — Update your personal information and account preferences.
- Workspace — Configure your organization's workspace name and details.
- Appearance — Customize the visual style and branding of your workspace.
- Notifications — Set when and how you receive candidate-related alerts.
- Labels — Create and manage tags to organize candidates and assessments.
- Users — Invite new team members and manage existing users.
- Roles and Permissions — Assign roles to control what each team member can view and edit.
- SAML SSO — Configure Single Sign-On (SSO) so your team logs in through your identity provider.
- API Key — Generate and manage API keys for third-party integrations.
- Integrations (Beta) — Connect Testlify with ATS platforms and recruiting tools.
- Webhooks — Set up webhooks to push real-time event data to external systems.
- Domain — Configure a custom domain for your Testlify workspace.
- SMTP Mail — Set up a custom mail server for outgoing candidate email notifications.
- Support — Set the support email address that candidates see in Testlify communications.
Assessment Settings
Assessment settings apply only to a specific assessment. For example, enabling proctoring on a Full-Stack Developer assessment does not affect any other assessment in your workspace.
How to open Assessment Settings
- Open the assessment you want to configure.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Choose the setting category you want to update.

Available Assessment Settings
- Configuration — Customize the general settings for this assessment.
- Proctoring — Enable proctoring features to monitor candidates during the test.
- Access — Set an expiry date and control which candidates can access the assessment.
- Integration — Configure integrations specific to this assessment.
- Welcome Video — Add a video or custom message that candidates see before starting.
- Completion — Define what candidates see after submitting the assessment.
- Information — Add general information and custom fields to this assessment.
- Grading — Set candidate grading criteria for this assessment.
- Report — Customize how candidate reports are generated and displayed.
Note: Assessment Questions, Assessment Duration, and Assessment Score are also assessment-level settings, giving you full control over content, time limits, and scoring for each individual test.
