Add Chat AI Questions to Your Assessments

Chat AI questions simulate real-time conversations in your assessments, letting you evaluate candidates' communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills in an interactive setting. Responses are recorded and available for review.

Before you begin

• You need an active Testlify workspace account.
• Have an existing assessment ready to edit, or create a new one first.

Add a Chat AI question

1. Log in to your workspace at app.testlify.com using your registered email and OTP.
2. Select the assessment where you want to add the Chat AI question.
   
3. Click "Edit" to open the assessment editor.
   
4. Click the "Questions" tab on the assessment setup page.
   
5. Under question types, select "Chat AI".
   
6. Choose a sample question (which auto-fills the AI prompt) or write a custom AI prompt, then click "Add".
   
7. Click "Save" to publish the updated assessment.
   

Tip: Start with a sample question to see how the AI prompt is structured, then tailor it to match your specific role or scenario.

How it works

Candidate experience

1. Invite the candidate to the assessment.
2. When the candidate starts, the AI asks questions in a chat format.
3. The AI records the candidate's responses and submits them for evaluation.
   

Reviewing responses

After the candidate submits the test, responses appear on the candidate results page. Chat AI responses are auto-scored, and you can also review and rate them manually.
