Welcome to Testlify! If you've been invited to take an assessment by a hiring company, this guide will ensure that you are fully prepared with the right equipment and permissions to complete your assessment smoothly.
1. Recommended Equipment
Desktop/Laptop (Preferred)
We highly recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to avoid any technical issues during your assessment. These devices provide a larger screen and better compatibility with our testing platform.
Mobile Devices (Not Recommended)
You can take your assessment on a mobile phone or tablet, but it's not ideal, especially for open-ended or coding questions. If you must use a mobile device, ensure you use a supported browser like Google Chrome, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox.
Note: Coding assessments are best taken on a desktop/laptop for ease of use.
2. Supported Devices and Browsers
Browser | Minimum Version | Recommended Device |
Google Chrome | Version 120.0+ | Desktop/Laptop |
Mozilla Firefox | Version 120.0+ | Desktop/Laptop |
Microsoft Edge | Version 120.0+ | Desktop/Laptop |
Safari | Version 16.0+ | Mac/iOS |
Ensure your browser is updated to version 120.0 or higher to avoid technical issues during your assessment.
3. Camera & Microphone Setup
Why It's Needed
Some assessments may require video responses or use proctoring measures like snapshots to ensure the integrity of the test. Before starting your assessment, make sure your camera and microphone are connected and working.
How to Enable Your Camera & Microphone
Google Chrome:
Open Chrome, and click on the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings.
Under Permissions, click Camera or Microphone and select the correct device.
Windows (OS Settings):
Go to Start > Settings > Privacy.
Allow access to your web browser under Camera and Microphone.
macOS:
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy.
Select a Camera or Microphone and enable access for your browser.
