Troubleshoot Camera and Microphone Permissions
Testlify needs access to your camera and microphone to record video answers. If the permission pop-up did not appear or your recording is not working, follow the steps below.
Troubleshooting steps
-
Check if your browser has blocked pop-ups.
The permission request appears as a pop-up window. If pop-ups are blocked, you will not see it. Either unblock pop-ups in your browser settings, or click the lock icon to the left of the website URL and set both Camera and Microphone to Allow.

-
Update your browser.
An outdated browser is a common cause of permission errors. Install the latest version of your browser and try recording again.
-
Disable browser extensions and plug-ins.
Some extensions control camera and microphone access and may conflict with Testlify. Temporarily disable all extensions, then reload the page and try recording again.
-
Try a different browser or device.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, open Testlify in a different browser — Google Chrome is recommended — or switch to a different device to check whether the problem is specific to your current setup.
